If it does not have a an Ethernet port on it then you are going to need a Modbus Plus to Modbus Ethernet Gateway. It looks like Avtron makes a board for the Automax that does MB Etherent (http://www.avtron.com/netmax.htm)

Fred,
That looks like a viable solution. I appreciate your feeback.

Robert,

Here are several options (?)
http://www.hms.se/products/products.asp?PID=252&ProdType=Anybus%20X-gateway

Configure a Momentum PLC with ethernet and Modbus+ port.
CPU: 171 CCC 960 20 Ethernet & I/O Bus Ports - 512K RAM
MB+: 172 PNN 210 22 Modbus Plus Communication Port Option Adapter
IO card: 170 ADI 340 00 24V DC - 16 Point Input

I am not sure of the actual Automax hardware they have, but if it is of the older vintage that might also be an option.

Are you wanting to go MB+ to Modbus TCP/IP or to an Allen Bradley Ethernet protocol over TCP/IP?

Schneider has a gateway as does Prolynx.
