On- and Off-Grid PV Power Storage System

EVE Battery has designed Power Storage Systems (HESS) based on Li-Ion battery
technology. All systems have following specifications :

- 19" Enclosure
- Battery Capacity from 1kWh ~ 100kWh (Battery Capacity can be upgraded)
- Output AC Power 1kW ~100kW AC True Sine
- PV and Wind Input 36V ~ 900V DC. (PV input can be AC voltage for existing PV + Grid Inverter installations)

Off-Grid System Type I :
- PV and / or Wind Input

Off-Grid System Type II :
- PV and / or Wind Input
- AC Grid Input to charge the batteries if they are discharged or to charge during night time

Off-Grid System Type III
- Back-Up System for Power Interupts
- AC Grid Input

On-Grid System
- PV and / or Wind Input
- AC Grid Input to charge the batteries if they are discharged or to charge during night time
- Power the Grid with unused Energy generated by PV and / or Wind

Do you have any storage of the PV energy collection? On grid tied, when the grid goes down, does the photovoltaic collection stop producing energy and then the battery storage kicks the AC current back on? What is the life of your largest battery back up system? How long with the charge hold without the grid or when there is no sunshine to be collected? How does the battery recharge itself? Do you have casing for the batteries? Is lithium - Ion construction the only technology you can think of? My 19.2 Lithium Ion battery powered chainsaw lasts about 15 minutes before needed recahrged by direct AC current. I am very, very concerned that your battery has all of the pitfalls of batteries that just don't last and just don't give an investor "bang for their buck". Your feedback please.

I work as a freelance engineer in Solar in Italy. Due to the nearly end of the feed-in premium tariff, I collaborate with an italian company that produces and sells this kind of products with standard Pb-gel battery with very affordable costs and performances. I think that Li-ion is the future, but the costs are too high at the moment. Most of all, in countries like India, could be a problem the maintenance with a Li-on system in case of problems.
In the future (i.e. when the costs of Li-on -or other technologies- will be lower) you'll be able to easily upgrade the system.
If you need further information email to alfio.vergani(at)gmail.com.

In any case, what do you think about this kind of market approach (Pb battery vs others)?
